General Meeting Thursday 10 November (BAH) 8.00 pm
Special Guest - Len King retired Rolls-Royce & Bentley Repair Specialist and World Test Cricket Umpire
Attending our November 10th general meeting as a special guest will be Len King.
Len started an apprenticeship with Kellow-Falkiner's Rolls-Royce and Bentley service Division in the 1950's, when the Mark IV was new and the Cloud and S Series cars were making their debut. Pre-war cars were still coming in for service Len's career spanned the Shadow series and also the Spirit based cars. Len along with former Kellow's Colleagues set up a Rolls-Royce and Bentley Specialist workshop Crewe Motors in the 1990's. For Our Cricket aficionados, Len was a World Test Series umpire, umpiring the famous December 1991 Boxing day test, India vs Australia. Len found himself on the front pages of the world press when India became very vocal about this test series.
Member Geoff Shepherd, a former apprentice under Len, will be conducting an interview on the early days of the Kellow-Falkiner service division, and a life time career repairing the cars. Len will also talk about his life commitment to Cricket and Umpiring.
Please join us for what should be a memorable night
