DRIVEN, NOT HIDDEN
TAKING OUR OLDER VEHICLES FOR A RUN
Mid-week Run – Wednesday 24th August
Our August Midweek run embraces the theme of “Driven, not Hidden”. I encourage everyone to bring out their older vehicles for a shorter, but just as engaging drive. As with all mid-week runs, both Rolls Royce and Bentley vehicles are welcome. Weather permitting, this is an ideal opportunity to bring out our older brigade.
Several members have expressed the desire to use their pre-war and older vehicles on a mid-week run but were concerned about the distance they have to drive. This was more about the drivers and occupants rather than the cars themselves, as I have been reminded that a pre-war car is just as capable as a more modern vehicle. This run is tailored to be just as interesting but a little bit shorter with a later start and earlier finish.
Our journey will commence at at the Pines Learning Centre Car Park near the Pines Shopping Centre - Coles entrance at 520 Blackburn Rd, Doncaster East. We will be departing at 10.00 sharp – please be fueled and ready to go.
We will travel along some pleasant driving roads via Warrandyte, Christmas Hills and Yarra Glen to the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie for Morning Tea.
Fueled up internally, we shall then travel through some picturesque countryside to Kinglake for Lunch at The Panton Hill Hotel, a popular eatery known for good hospitality and great food. Lunch will commence at 12.30 and will be at members cost and selecting from the menu.
Being fully fed and watered you can make your own way home though a number of routes.
